this is a black and white version of the original. sometimes it's interesting to desaturate something to see where the tones lay... i generally prefer black and white images to the colored versions anyways, so this ones for me. hahahah
i still dont think after finishing it i am really pleased with it. i really think if my pencils were tighter, it'd be a better piece but i was anxious to color something so it's my own fault. i think more than anything this is like a very finished sketch. if i were to do another one, i'd do tighter pencils, come up with a more dynamic pose and work on making them really more photo realistic in regard to looking like the actors from the film.
i used a small amount of reference for this, but not enough. it seems to border along trying to be a comic version of the actors and really looking like the people. if i look at a pic, i can make it much more accurate, but at the same time i do get bored. doing it this way, it's not quite realism, but i can screw around with it more in a creative sense...
and im rambling. this is why i dont write stuff in the caption box. if i do...i start rambling..
(and a note. i noticed on the scan, edwards got some crap on his face. it must be something on my scanner...and i only noticed after the fact, and im too busy/lazy to fix it right proper)
What, the cute little beauty mark or the scar-looking thing? Either way I think it looks better in black and white. Not to say that I didn't like the colors, for I really liked the way the bg came out, but somehow I like the feel of this one better. Which is really odd cause b/w pics tend to bore me (which is unfortunate cause there are some really good ones out there), and this one really draws me in. Maybe cause it was first introduced in color... I dunno, but see, we all ramble. Rambling is good.
I get that too, the scanner adding it's own personal touches. It gets jealous. Well at least in this case it looks alright, so I wouldn't worry about touching it up.
I pretty much love everything about this pic. I love how you portrayed his protectiveness over her the most. ;]
Lovely work.
