Artist's Comments

another one...you sick of em yet?

i used to draw this character way back in high school...and after years of having her put away in a sketchbook and in the back of my brain, it feels nice to get her back on paper and ink...

sharpie and red sakura marker ( the very best red ever!) with a dried up prisma marker in the background

and she stole my 20 hole dr. martens for this one...

well....hellboy is very much like mike mignola, the silver surfer was very close to kirby's heart as well....i think most artists create characters to either use as escapism, explore concepts beyond themselfs physically, or tackle spiritual/psychological things that intrigue them. there are so many reasons artists work themselves into characters, so yes there is a bit of me in this as well.

oh yah...and i do own her shoes....in this pic

i do the same with my artwork, its such a remarkable thing to see it come out

i used to do autobiographical stuff back in high school, and then stopped rather abruptly and haven't done anything remotely similar to myself for years....so i figure i'm going to get back into it a teensy bit and see where i have evolved...

its been my observation that most artist bring themselves out in there work mostly unconscience that they've even done it .I for one am interested to see the evolution of u.
