this is a pin-up i did of "Spaceboy" a.k.a. number one from Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba's awesome comic UMBRELLA ACADEMY by Darkhorse Comics. It's in the back of issue #6 of UA, which hits comic shelves Wednesday feb. 20. I cant wait to see how it ends this story arc! I'm really really stoked to have a piece in this book...a bit of a dream, and it's real...still kinda cant believe it myself...

edit* a lil info on the imagery in the picture, in case anyones interested: i put in items of space-historical significance: the moon from the early turn of the century silent film 'a trip to the moon' by george milies. The actual moon in that particular film has a scene where the rocket launched actually lands in the eye of the 'face' of the moon. I instead, placed the monocle from their father in place of the rocket. I used the look of the rocket to decorate the telescope he's holding in his toes. He's also holding a postcard with the image of the first dog in space, (sent by the russians and from an old stamp design in comemoration and rememberance of her death), "laika". So there's lots of lil things i put in there....

"Regardless of how you feel about it, you are biased and conditioned by everything that's surrounded you since you were born. You want no choices to be made for you? Avoid being born.."
i've been published before, but never on this scale .....so that, and the fact that i love and respect this book so much, makes it that much more special.
